READEO is a browser extension that helps users read YouTube video transcripts using RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) speed reading technique. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data.

This extension:

• Does NOT collect personal information
• Does NOT track your browsing history
• Does NOT send any data to external servers
• Does NOT use analytics or tracking cookies
• Does NOT require an account or registration

Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API:

• Reading preferences - Your chosen WPM speed, font size, color scheme, and other settings are saved locally so they persist between sessions.
• Temporary transcript data - When you click READEO, the video transcript is temporarily stored to be displayed in the reader. This data is automatically cleared and is never sent anywhere.

Permissions Explained

READEO requires the following browser permissions:

• storage - Used to save your reading preferences (WPM, font size, color scheme, etc.) locally on your device.
• tabs - Used to open the speed reader in a new browser tab when you click the READEO button.
• host_permissions (youtube.com) - Required to access YouTube video pages and extract the video transcript for speed reading.

Third-Party Services

READEO does not use any third-party services, analytics, or tracking tools. The extension operates entirely offline after installation.

YouTube Data

READEO extracts transcript data from YouTube videos that have captions available. This data:

• Is only accessed when you explicitly click the READEO button
• Is processed entirely on your device
• Is never transmitted to any external server
• Is automatically cleared when you close the reader tab

Children's Privacy

READEO does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The extension does not collect information from anyone.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
