Overview
READEO is a speed reading application available as an Android app and Chrome extension. It helps users read YouTube video transcripts using RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) technique. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Data Collection
We collect minimal data and only when you choose to sign in.
Without an account:
- No personal information is collected
- No tracking or analytics
- All preferences stored locally on your device
With a Google sign-in (optional):
- Your email address is used for authentication only
- Reading history is synced to the cloud for convenience
- You can sign out and delete your data at any time
Data Storage
Mobile app: Reading preferences and history are stored locally using device storage. If signed in, history is also synced to a secure cloud database (Supabase).
Chrome extension: All data is stored locally using Chrome's built-in storage API. No data is sent to external servers.
Transcript Data
When you load a YouTube video transcript:
- The transcript is fetched through our secure API
- Transcripts may be cached to reduce load times
- No personally identifiable information is attached to cached transcripts
Third-Party Services
- Google Sign-In (optional) — for account authentication
- Supabase — for cloud sync of reading history (signed-in users only)
- YouTube — for fetching video transcripts and metadata
Children's Privacy
READEO does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
